Abstract

Throughout history, poverty has been a pervasive economic and social challenge, now recognized as a major global issue, prompting countries worldwide to prioritize efforts to reduce it. Globalization and innovation are identified as tools with the potential to impact and alleviate poverty. Utilizing panel data techniques and the generalized method of moments (GMM), this study aims to investigate the mutual effect of globalization and innovation on poverty in selected science-producing countries with per capita income above and below $20,000 from 2011 to 2019. The research findings showed a significant negative impact of the mutual effect of globalization and innovation dimensions on poverty in both income groups during the study period. Additionally, the control variables of misery and inequality exhibit a positive and significant effect on poverty in both groups of selected countries.
